Welcome to our Missions Ministry

Our mission is to guide members to an understanding of the Biblical Mandate on Missions, found in Acts 1:8; that we are to share Jesus Christ with others, both locally and internationally.  To educate the church members about Southern Baptist Mission work, including the history, present work and the future direction of the International Mission Board and the North American Mission Board.  To lead members on mission trips, both locally and internationally.  To encourage participation and pray for all missions activities anywhere in which the church participates.  Finally, to be partners with God as we claim Habakkuk 1:5 as our vision for missions:  "Look at the nations and watch and be utterly amazed!  For I am going to do something in your days that you would not have believed even if I had told you".

Mission Opportunities

The Care Ministry of EWS Baptist Church exists to serve our church family in a time of need.  Whether it is through christian counseling, a prayer room intercessor, or a pastoral visit to the hospital, our desire is to share the love of Christ.

Ministry Offerings

The Bereavement Ministry provides for the funeral needs of our church members and their immediate family.  Counseling and referrals to support groups are provided as needed.  The ministry consists of volunteers who are trained by the church to offer biblical direction to those who are hurting.

The Hospital Ministry is comprised of members of the pastoral ministry staff and several volunteers who visit ill and injured church members and their immediate families in local hospitals.  If you are aware of these types of individuals, please call our prayer line at 205-338-7711, ext 231.

The Prayer Ministry is comprised of several intercessory ministers.  If you or someone you know needs prayer, we would love the opportunity to join you in prayer.  We have a dedicated team of prayer intercessors who will take your requests and needs before the Lord.  The Prayer Ministry of EWS Baptist Church considers it a priviledge to pray for your needs and for the needs of those you know.  For more information, please visit our Prayer Ministry page.

SAMuel Servants:  As a ministry of Eden Westside Missions Department, it is our desire to encourage the staff's of the service agencies in Pell City by visiting them, listening to them, praying for and with them, if they so desire, and by expressing our appreciation of the services they give to our community.

We are currently searching for volunteers to take on the Pell City School System principals, local nursing home staff, and the local hospital.  If that is you, then please contact Pam Johnson.

The name SAMuel Servants comes from 1 Samuel 3:10 "The Lord came and stood there, calling "Samuel! Samuel!"  Then Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening".  SAMuel Servants are Service Agency Missionaries who, like the prophet Samuel, are listening and ready to answer God's call and reach out to those in need around them.

Trading Graces:

Twice a year our Men's Ministry Department meets the physical needs of widows in our church by completing minor housing repairs.
